I found many of the same used books that I have packed away, that were for sale online. This in a way is sad, that the books that I really like are being placed up for sale. But Then I think how great it is that these books are not sitting on a shelf or boxed away, they are being offered for the enjoyment of others. Used books are lifeless just being packed away, and there are so many people who will buy these same books from the online book stores and their life will continue on. There are more people who shop on the internet than do at regular stores. So the used books sell faster online than any other means. The used books begin a new life whenever they are purchased from the online book stores.
Used books can bring new life to the reader as well. When you buy a used book, you may see that the original owner of the book has left a notation, a signature or an article that associates the book with a part of their life. I have purchased used books from online that have had a little extra in them such as I noted earlier. This makes me wonder and daydream about what this person’s life was like when they had the book. This is an added adventure for me. And a shared part of someone’s life that will be carried on through this book.
